Ministry Of Transportation Tightens Monitoring Of Eid Al Fitr Backflow
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) emphasized that homecoming activities before Eid al-Fitr or any activities after that, which are commonly called backflow, are still prohibited. For this reason, the Ministry of Transportation has coordinated with all relevant stakeholders to tighten supervision of transportation control in the post-Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijriah phase.
This was done solely to break the chain of spread of the corona virus. Because, if this is not done, the second wave will spread in front of the eye.
"We remain consistent in that the homecoming and backflow, whether done before the Eid al-Fitr or after Eid al-Fitr, are still prohibited. Those who are allowed to travel are people and activities that meet the criteria and requirements stipulated in Permenhub 25/2020 and SE of the Task Force No 4/2020, ”said Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Adita Irawati in Jakarta, Monday, May 25.
Adita said that the tightening of transportation supervision, in general, is divided into three phases, namely, the phase ahead of Eid al-Fitr which started from the enactment of Permenhub 25/2020 on 23 April 2020 to 23 May 2020, the phase during Eid al-Fitr on 24 to 25 May 2020, and the post-phase phase. Idul Fitri on May 26 until the completion of the SE Task Force's validity period.
"Supervision in the phase ahead of Eid and during Eid Al-Fitr has been carried out and is running well. Starting today, we will focus on supervising the post-Eid al-Fitr phase, ”explained Adita.
He said, in accordance with the policy appeal conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19, who had asked the people in the regions not to return to Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Transportation would support this policy in coordination with the parties. related to tightening transportation supervision throughout Indonesia, especially those going to Jakarta.
"Supervision of transportation control that is carried out is almost the same as that which was carried out during the phase before Eid al-Fitr, namely by conducting insulation at a number of points on the road, as well as checking the completeness of documents according to the criteria and conditions specified at transportation nodes such as terminals, stations, airports, and ports, to ensure that those who travel are really people who meet the criteria and conditions according to the provisions and are not for homecoming or returning, "concluded Adita.
Previously, the Indonesian Police had stated that they were imposing vehicle blockages on the main backflow routes to the capital city of Jakarta from various regions such as East Java, Central Java, West Java and Banten. In implementing these blockages, officers from the TNI and Polri elements will be on guard at each designated location and will overturn the vehicles that will return to Jakarta, if they do not meet the criteria and conditions determined according to the SE Task Force.
Then related to inspections at transportation nodes such as at Bus Terminals, Port Airports and Railway Stations, additional personnel will be added in the field to tighten checking documents at the point of departure.
