Success In Christmas Worship 149 Churches In Bandung City, 1,221 Joint Personnel Deployed

The Bandung City Police (Polrestabes) deployed 1,221 joint personnel to help secure the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations in their area.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono said the joint forces carrying out Nataru's security consisted of 659 Bandung Polrestabes personnel, 210 personnel from the West Java Police, 170 TNI personnel, and 180 related agencies.

"We will secure five tourist attractions, four stations, and 13 shopping places. For security posts, we have created 21 posts and five service posts," Budi said in Bandung, Thursday, December 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Budi said the Police would also carry out strict security in all churches in the city of Bandung so that Christmas celebrations could run conducively and safely.

"We will carry out security in 149 churches in Bandung City with details, both large churches and small churches, we will carry out all security," he said.

He said his party had also prepared a number of plans to overcome congestion in the city of Bandung during the Nataru holiday. In fact, a number of personnel will be deployed in the border area of Bandung City to carry out insulation.

"We will also conduct insulations at the border later. So for motorists, maybe we will reverse the motorized group that wants to enter the city of Bandung," said Budi.

Regarding car free night (CFN) activities, said Budi, the Bandung Polrestabes together with the local government have decided to eliminate CFN during the Nataru celebration period.

However, his party is still conducting discussions together regarding the Vehicle-Free Braga Street (Braga Beken) program during the momentum of the turn of the year.

"We have discussed with the local government, while there is no car free night. For Braga Beken it is still being discussed whether there is a vehicle or not, it will be conveyed next," he said.
