Wijaya Karya Will Be Divested By The Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road, There Are Interests From Foreigners

JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) will release ownership or divestment of the Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road which is currently under construction.

WIKA Corporate Secretary Mahendra Wijaya said that currently his party is working on a recycling asset scheme for the project.

"After we finish it, right, only section two is finished. Well, section three is also under construction. Well, we also see if it still has to be completed first, section three. Or maybe we can partial divestment or partial divestment," Mahendra said when met at Pluit, North Jakarta, Thursday, December 12.

Mahendra said that his party had conducted an assessment with a number of potential investors.

In fact, the Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road is said to have been glimpsed by potential domestic and foreign investors.

He added that currently the construction progress for Section 2 of the Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road has reached 80 percent. That section is currently in the priority stage to be completed.

"The exploration has been done. But, I can't tell you his name. Because, right, it's related to the process later. But, there are local ones, some are outside," he said.

For your information, the Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road has a total length of 83.67 kilometers (km) which is divided into three sections.

Section 1, namely Serang Langkasbitung with a length of 26.5 km, Section 2 Rangkasbitung 'Cileles with a length of 24.17 km and Section 3 Cileles'Panimbang along 33 km.

Later, this toll road will provide convenience and efficiency of travel time, such as from Jakarta to the Tanjung Lesung tourist attraction which previously took up to 5 hours to only 2-3 hours.

In addition, the presence of the Serang 'Panimbang Toll Road is expected to support the economic development of the Central Banten and South Banten areas which are geographically close to the Jakarta area.
