Kia Tries Latest Generation Of Seltos, Launches Second Quarter 2025

JAKARTA - Kia plans to bring the latest generation from Seltos after this series was first introduced in 2019. This is evidenced by the capture of a spy camera that reported the SUV was being tested on the road in India.

Launching from India's Autocar, Thursday, December 12, the car was seen with a hidden sticker with several significant changes.

Starting at the front phase of the latest Seltos has a sharper cut with an aggressive headlights with elements of LED. The back has a C running light at each corner.

Although further information about this car is still kept secret, it is hoped that Kia can offer Seltos in several variants of powertrain.

It is estimated that Seltos will maintain a powertrain turbo gasoline and turbo-diesel line in several markets with a choice of gasoline-hybrid to be offered soon.

With the presence of a gasoline-hybrid option, this further strengthens the manufacturer's commitment to offering more electrification vehicles following Kia Grand Carnival HEV which was introduced some time ago.

As an illustration, this South Korean manufacturer offers a choice of 1.6 liter engine and 2.0 liters of gasoline type. For 2.0 liters of 4-cylinder, Seltos has a maximum power of 147 dk and a maximum torque of 179 Nm with CVT transmission.

Meanwhile, the turbo-diesel type has a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine that provides a 134 dk explosive power and a 320 Nm torque combined with a six-acceleration automatic transmission.

Kia will launch all-new Seltos globally in the second quarter of 2025 and will be a direct challenger for the latest generation of Creta scheduled to arrive at the market in early 2026.

In addition to the latest generation of Seltos, Kia plans to launch a number of models starting from the presence of the Syros compact SUV on December 19, followed by Carens facelift and Carens EV for mid-2025.
