Tanjung Perak Surabaya Prosecutor's Office Names 2 Corruption Suspects For Parking Retribution Of IDR 725 Million
SURABAYA - The Tanjung Perak District Prosecutor's Office in Surabaya, East Java, has uncovered allegations of corruption at the Surya Surabaya Market Regional Company by naming two people as suspects.
The two suspects are Muhammad Taufiqurrahman (T) who served as Director of Traders for PD Pasar Surya for the period2019-2023 and Masrur (M), who since 2017 until now has served as Head of the South Branch of PD Pasar Surya Surabaya.
"The two suspects from 2020 to 2023 gave approval for the extension of parking management within the South Surya Branch PD Market," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Tanjung Perak Surabaya Kejari Ananto Tri Sudibyo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 9.
PD Pasar Surya Branch Selatan, whose parking management is played by the two suspects, includes 17 markets in the Surabaya City area.
Ananto revealed that the actions of the suspects T and M caused a difference in payment for parking management activities at PD Pasar Surya South Branch in 2020-2023 which caused state financial losses of Rp. 725,443,762.

"The suspect T's method is to ignore the procedure for extending the rental permit or parking management contract. Meanwhile, suspect M, his role is not to deposit parking fees," he said.
Tanjung Perak Surabaya Prosecutor's Office investigators revealed that the two suspects did not evaluate, study and negotiate whether or not the parking management could be extended.
Investigators also found differences in the data of money that the suspect M had deposited with the Central Surya PD Market Office, the South Branch Office, and the parking management.
In addition, investigators from the Tanjung Perak Surabaya Kejari found evidence of money that the suspect M did not deposit to the PD Surya Market Head Office.
