21 Victims Of Fraud For Migrant Workers In Batam Met By Minister Karding
JAKARTA - Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding met 21 victims of fraud that distributed migrant workers at the P4MI Friendly House, Batam.
These victims were successfully prevented from non-procedural departures to Malaysia and Singapore.
"This is dangerous for humanity. So, one of the programs of the Ministry of P2MI is to prevent non-procedural placement and enforce the law with other stakeholders against people involved in the syndicated criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO)," said Karding in an electronic message received in Jakarta, Sunday, December 7.
Not only meeting the victims, Karding also directly inspected the Batam Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Post (P4MI), Riau Islands, last Saturday.
Karding said, within a year, there were 412 cases that could be revealed by the Riau Islands Indonesian Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI).
I encourage friends in the field to do the maximum possible prevention. Strengthen border areas, ports, and cooperate with various stakeholders, such as Immigration and Customs to save our society from the dangers of non-procedural placement," concluded Karding.
During his visit, Karding also highlighted the service side at the Batam P4MI office.
