The Rhino Named By Jokowi Gives Birth In Way Kambas National Park
JAKARTA - A male rhino calf was born in the Sumatra Rhino Breeding Center (SRS) of the Way Kambas National Park Office (TNWK) of East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province.
"A baby rhino was born at the Way Kambas National Park Office on Saturday (November 25) at 04.00 WIB," said Public Relations of the Way Kambas Sukatmoko National Park Office, Antara, Sunday, November 26.
He said a baby rhino Sumatran or Dicerorhinus Sumatrensis who was born was male. The male rhino baby was born from a mother namedtip.
"The birth of this rhino calf is good news, this is something positive for the conservation of the Sumatran rhino in Indonesia, especially in the Way Kambas National Park. We pray that God willing and his children will always be healthy, and the population of the Sumatran rhino will increase again," he said.
According to him, fire is a female rhino that was born naturally on May 11, 2016 in the Asylum Rhino of Sumatra, Way Kambas National Park Office. This is the second child of a mother rhino named Ratu.
The name totaling is a gift from President Joko Widodo at the launch and determination of Way Kambas National Park to become an ASEAN Heritage Park on July 28, 2016.
Rhinoceros give birth to male rhino cubs beyond estimated time, namely on Saturday at around 04.00 WIB on the day of the 460th garden or 10 days earlier than the birth estimate. This birth became the birth of the second rhino calf in 2023, as well as the first birth of the seven-year-old rhino mother.

At 08.19 WIB the rhinoceros were found to have been with their cubs in the forest by the Reservoir Rhino of Sumatra National Park Way Kambas with the condition of the mother and calf of the rhino being well monitored.
The condition of the 25 kilogram rhino calf can stand upright and walk, not long after it was found that the baby male rhino was able to feed its mother in a standing position. Currently, the mother and calf of the rhino are already in the care cage (boba) of the Asaka Rhino of Sumatra, Way Kambas National Park.
From the semi-natural rhino breeding efforts carried out, currently the TNWK SRS has produced five Sumatran rhinos born at that location. The protected animals include Andatu who was born in 2012, living in 2016, Sedah Mirah was born in 2022, then the third child of Ratu-Andalas was born on September 30, 2023, and the rhino calf of the rhino pair
