Heru Budi Asks For Disaster Equipment To Be Prepared For Rainy Season
Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked his staff to prepare disaster equipment and alert personnel to anticipate disasters during the peak of the rainy season which is expected to occur in February 2024.
"I ask all those engaged in the field of volunteers and those who are members of disaster preparedness, that in February there will be rain or something that we should be aware of from the results of information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG)," said Heru while giving a briefing at the apple and rehearsal preparedness in facing the rainy season at the Malacca Sari Water Gate, East Flood Canal (KBT), Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.
He also asked for every equipment for disaster management to be well prepared, not just to be a display.
"Every sub-district or sub-district has a boat, yes. So I told you a little when asked by the sub-district head, is there a boat? Yes. Usually in the front of the sub-district office, but that's why the H day doesn't come down, the pumped is not full, it turns out to be leaking. So it's on display to see," he explained.
In addition, Heru also asked all devices related to disasters to be prepared.
"Not only apples but show that at a later time we will be needed by the community in the context of disaster management, both floods and others, we must be ready," Heru emphasized.
The DKI Water Resources Service (SDA) was also asked to prepare water pumps so that they can function properly.
"I also ask the mayors to check all related service terms (sub-dept) to make sure everything is ready," he said.
The disaster preparedness rally activity was attended by 300 joint personnel from Kodim 0505 East Jakarta, East Jakarta Metro Police, DKI Jakarta BPBD, Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Health Service, Social Service, Satpol PP, sub-district heads and village heads of East Jakarta Administration, disaster volunteers, and all other related elements.
