Firli Claims To Be A Serang Balik Corruptor Through Alleged SYL Extortion, Former KPK Investigator: Made Up!
JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Yudi Purnomo assessed that KPK Chairman Firli's claim to be a corruptor to attack back through the extortion case of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo was baseless. Yudi Purnomo should have emphasized that he was introspecting himself and handed over his position.
Firli's statement that there are corruptors who attack back as baseless talk and make it up should Firli introspect himself and just resign from his position," Yudi told reporters in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, November 21.
Instead of assuming, Firli continued, Yudi must follow the ongoing process. This is because Yudi considers the press conference held to impress Firli in panic because investigators find evidence of his involvement in the extortion case.
"Even though the investigation into corruption cases of alleged extortion by the KPK leadership is a personal responsibility, so neither the KPK nor KPK employees are brought up," he said.
As previously reported, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri confirmed that he would not resign even though he was suspected of being involved in the alleged extortion of Syahrul. He even accused this case of being an attempt by corruptors to fight back against the ongoing legal process in his institution. "Personally, I have never felt disappointed with anyone, including never being disappointed with the state because in principle the state needs the best service of all the nation's children and all law enforcers not to back down from one point of view of ignorance. Especially facing the attacks against corruptors," Firli said at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 20.

Firli also claimed that he had never blackmailed or received gratuities from anyone. Including, Syahrul, who is currently being held at the KPK Detention Center. "I stated at every opportunity that I have never extorted anyone and I have never been involved in bribery and gratification to anyone," he said.
