Elite Democrats Wait For Bawaslu To Respond To The News Of The Integrity Pakta Support Ganjar

JAKARTA - Democratic Party Elite Syarief Hasan is waiting for the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to address the issue of the integrity pact signed by Acting Regent Sorong with the Head of BIN Papua to win the number three presidential candidate, Ganjar Pranowo, who is currently busy.

According to Syarief, if supporting support involves government institutions, it could be included as a violation.

"I think like this, in supporting support, it's an individual nature. If the constitution, I think it's an institution, let alone using its authority as a superior, of course there is a violation. So we'll see how Bawaslu will respond to it, whether it's a violation of the regulations there or what," said Syarief, Thursday, November 16.

According to him, the KPU and Bawaslu must be more proactive in responding to the issue. Moreover, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs who said that the integrity pact did not violate the law was the Ganjar Pranowo pair.

"How will the KPU act. Moreover, Bawaslu must also be more proactive there actually," continued the member of the Democratic Party's High Council.

Meanwhile, regarding BIN's involvement in the integrity pact, this member of Commission I of the DPR admitted that there had been no discussion on his part. Syarief said the commission was still waiting for developments to summon BIN to clarify the news.

"Not yet, not yet, not yet. We'll see first. We'll see about the progress later. We haven't been fully confirmed yet. But in principle, whatever violations are, if there are violations, the parties involved should intervene," said Syarief.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MPR assessed that there needs to be an investigation from Bawaslu regarding the existence of a written integrity pact. If there is a violation, it should be sanctioned.

"Yes, it means that it must be investigated by the agency that oversees the election, Bawaslu in this case, it is cleared, checked if there is a violation followed up. Now, if there is a transparency there, maybe the parties involved, including in this case Commission I, if it is related to other agencies with partners, of course we may ask," said Syarief.
