There Are Many Highlights About Netrality, The National Police Chief Affirms That The Police Will Secure The 2024 Election According To The Rules

MADIUN - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the ranks of the National Police are committed to carrying out the task of securing the 2024 General Elections (Pemilu) series properly.

"The National Police's task according to the rules is to carry out a series of stages of securing the 2024 General Election properly," said National Police Chief Listyo Sigit on the sidelines of launching the planting of 10 million tree seedlings in the Prince Timoer Caruban Sports Center area, Madiun, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 15.

The National Police Chief instructed all his staff to be neutral and not be involved in practical politics at every stage of the 2024 General Election.

The attitude of the National Police's neutrality in the 2024 General Election is regulated in Law (UU) Number 2 of 2022 concerning the Indonesian National Police Article 28 paragraph (1) which states that the Police must be neutral in political life and not be involved in practical politics. In paragraph (2), namely the Police must also not exercise the right to vote and be elected.

"Therefore, the most important thing that we must maintain is how the series of stages of the election can run smoothly, safely, and peacefully to elect a candidate for national leader who is ready to lead Indonesia and realize the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision," said General Sigit.

The National Police has also issued instructions and directions to its staff to maintain neutrality in the 2024 General Election as stated in Telegram Letter (ST) Number 2407/X/2023.

The telegram letter is a guideline for all members of the National Police to maintain neutrality in the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

The National Police Chief hopes that there will be no violations of the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission during the election.
