Starting From Super Junior Likes, VIDI Learns K-pop Music Popularity
JAKARTA - Vidi Aldiano alias VIDI is known as one of the Indonesian singers who often shows his interest in the South Korean music industry, K-pop.
The beginning of his interest in the K-pop industry began during the pandemic. However, he had started to find out about South Korean idols since a dozen years ago.
"Actually, K-pop in Indonesia has been mushrooming for a long time since my college days, from Super Junior here," said VIDI in Kasablanka, South Jakarta on Wednesday, November 8.
"But if you really follow it during the pandemic. I think there are also many who have the same experience as me," he continued.
This interest made him want to dig deeper into K-pop. Even though he already has his own music color, he does not hesitate to re-learn different types of music from what he has performed so far.
"Initially I liked K-pop from the songs, for a long time I learned to dig and I increasingly appreciate the process behind how they made songs, made projects, made music videos, created campaigns," said VIDI.
"And there I feel the industry there is very extraordinary and detailed. That's what I want to learn. As an independent musician in Indonesia, I need to learn too," he continued.
For VIDI, it is undeniable that K-pop is a very successful music industry. This achievement can be seen from their wide range of coverage to other countries.
