2 Cars And 4 Tax Arrears Asset Trucks Confiscated
SOLO - Surakarta Pratama Tax Service Office (KPP) confiscated tax arrears in the form of two minibuses and four trucks.
Head of KPP Pratama Surakarta Hery Wirawan said the asset confiscation step was taken on supervision from the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of Central Java II.
He said the confiscation carried out amounted to Rp1.05 billion for tax debt of Rp2,254 billion.
According to him, this step is a tangible form of law enforcement.
"This confiscation is mainly a law enforcement so that taxpayers pay off their tax debts. However, we still emphasize that KPP Pratama Surakarta prioritizes acts of persuasion and education to taxpayers," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 8.
Meanwhile, he said, until now KPP Pratama Surakarta has blocked as many as 115 taxpayer accounts.
"Due to the blocking, 49 accounts have been confiscated and transferred from blocked accounts and balances to state accounts," he said.

In addition, he said, there were 66 blocked taxpayer accounts and the confiscation would be carried out as payment of tax arrears from blocked taxpayers.
"With the act of confiscation, the assets belonging to the taxpayer are under state control as collateral for the repayment of the tax debt," he said.
He said that if the taxpayer does not pay off the tax debt and the tax collection fee up to a period of time according to the law, it will be continued with an auction of confiscated goods.
