HondaJet Echelon Planned To Fly For The First Time 2026:rakit In The US And Irrit Fuel
JAKARTA - Honda, through its subsidiary engaged in the aircraft, revealed that its newest small business jet, called the HondaJet Echelon, is targeted to fly for the first time in 2026.
Although categorized as a light jet, this 11-seater aircraft is bigger than this HondaJet which can carry up to eight people.
Not only that, this aircraft is also designed as the light jet with the first single pilot capable of flying across the United States without refueling.
The US-based company said it aims to obtain flight certification from US aviation authorities by 2028.
"HondaJet Echelon was born to create a new category that goes beyond the experience of traveling with conventional light jets," Honda Aircraft President and CEO Hideto Ya Kosaki said in a statement.
The new jet will have one engine on each wing and will be 20 percent more fuel-efficient than its competitors, he said.
The plan is that the new aircraft will be assembled at a company plant in North Carolina, with the initial manufacturing process scheduled to begin in 2024.
The price of the light jet has not yet been determined and it has not yet been decided whether to sell it in Japan, according to the company.
"Expanding mobility into space has been Honda's long-term dream, and HondaJet Echelon marks an interesting next round featuring Honda's classic story of a product that creates new value for the public," Ya Kudai was quoted as saying by the company's website.
