Groundbreaking IKN Airport, Jokowi: Fully Operated December 2024
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) targets the Nusantara Capital Airport (IKN Airport) to fully operate in 2024 after the groundbreaking of the IKN airport.
"Today we will soon conduct a groundbreaking for the construction of the Nusantara Capital Airport (IKN) which is targeted to be fully operational in December 2024," said President Jokowi, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.
Jokowi added that the construction of IKN Airport is targeted for June 2024 and fully operational in December 2024.
According to him, the presence of IKN Airport is very important along with the dense activities and mobility of people, as well as goods from and to IKN.
In addition, said Jokowi, IKN Airport was built specifically to support government activities at IKN and support connectivity at IKN.
The IKN Airport area is 347 hectares and the runway is 3,000 x 45 meters long, IKN Airport can serve wide-body aircraft.
IKN Airport is equipped with a terminal covering an area of 7,530 square meters, so passengers can be served comfortably and well.

Gibran Rakabuming Raka's father is optimistic that IKN Airport can increase competitiveness, encourage economic growth and encourage the development of potential in the regions and accelerate the development of IKN which is in the process.
"This airport will make the IKN area more open, connectivity is getting better and also easier to reach from anywhere," concluded Jokowi.
