When Jokowi's Honeymoon With PDIP Is Over
JAKARTA The honeymoon period between President Joko Widodo and his supporting party, PDIP is over. Currently, Jokowi is facing disruption or distrust not only from the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol, but also most of the community.
A political expert from Al Azhar University Indonesia, Andriadi Achmad said that Jokowi was secretly pursuing politics that shocked the public, even the PDIP.
But Jokowi's political maneuver also provoked criticism from various parties. Allegations of not knowing yourself, do not know, thank you given to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta by many parties.
Jokowi's relationship with PDIP is reportedly not harmonious since some time ago.
When Gibran Rakabuming Raka finally ran as a vice presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) to accompany Prabowo Subianto, he was considered a sign of an open war between Jokowi's family and PDIP.
Meanwhile, PDIP carried the pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfiud MD in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
However, until now neither Jokowi nor Megawati Soekarnoputri as the General Chair of the PDIP have explicitly conveyed the current situation of their relationship.
According to BRIN's political research center researcher, Firman Noor, Jokowi's family relationship with Megawati's party has been out of harmony for a long time. But the indications of the rift are getting clearer now.
Firman considered this because Jokowi felt he could stand alone without being affiliated with certain parties.
"He now feels strong in his position, already feels at the PDIP. So wherever he can, just appoint. In fact, he could have created his own party," said Firman.
On the other hand, political observer Pangi Syarwi Chaniago said Jokowi is currently at the nadir point after serving as president for nine years.
Currently, the level of public trust in Jokowi is low, due to its political maneuvers that cancel.
Senda with Firman, Pangi assessed that Jokowi's attitude towards Gibran was the peak of public distrust of the president.
"Our president's maneuver is dangerous. He looks silent because he is compiling his next step. He is implementing the most'magic' strategy," Pangi told VOI.
"This is a nadir point for Jokowi for almost 10 years in office. His words cannot be held," added the 1987-born man.
Although Megawati has so far been silent, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto actually expressed his feelings about Jokowi's political attitude. According to Hasto, the party had given everything for Jokowi, but was eventually abandoned.
Hasto said, until now there are still many PDIP cadres and sympathizers who do not believe in Jokowi's political maneuvers and his family.
"When the party's DPP met with the ranks of branches and branches as the lowest party structure, many did not believe that this could happen," said Hasto in a written statement, Sunday (29/10/2023).
"We love and give a huge privilege to President Jokowi and his family, but we are abandoned because there are other requests that have the potential to violate the good and constitutional institutions," Hasto added.
PDIP carried Jokowi in the election for the Mayor of Solo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, until finally winning the last two editions of the presidential election.
Although until now PDIP has been seen silent and has not confirmed their attitude towards Jokowi, Pangi considers that there is no longer any feeling between Jokowi and the party that has carried him so far.
"The honeymoon is over. Jokowi is like there is no burden. He left without any clarity, and this hurts. Go look face to face, go home looking back," said Pangi.
Meanwhile, a political communication expert from Multimedia University, Nusantara, Silvanus Alvin, assessed that Jokowi's silence was correct.
Not all of these issues can be responded to quickly. In this case, waiting and seeing and also being silent is one of the right steps," said Silvanus.

Silvanus added that if Jokowi gave a response regarding his relationship with PDIP, it could actually be interpreted as justification for tensions that have long been suspected by the public.
"It could be that this is indeed one of the embodiments of Jokowi's responsibility, which from the start stated that he wanted the 2024 presidential election to be cool. There is no longer a division of the camp, like that," he concluded.
