IDF Chief Of Staff Admits Land Attacks On Gaza Delayed Due To Tactics And Strategy
JAKARTA - Israel's Chief of Military Staff (IDF) Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi admitted that the ground attack on Gaza was delayed due to tactics and strategies, but promised to defend his country.
"Israel is in the midst of a war launched by the Hamas group. They will regret it," he said at a news conference near the Gaza border.
"We are ready for this. The IDF and Southern Command have prepared a quality offensive plan to achieve war goals," said Lt. Gen. Halevi.
"The IDF is ready to maneuver (land), and we will make a decision with the political echelon regarding the shape and time of the next stage," he continued.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged that there were tactical considerations and strategies so that there was a delay in ground attacks. However, according to him, it allows the IDF to prepare itself better.
"We take every minute to be more prepared," he explained.
"And every minute that goes by, we attack the enemy more often. Killing the enemy, destroying infrastructure, gathering more intelligence for the next stage," he explained.
"This is our country, our home, and we will defend it at all costs," he said.
