Imitating Jokowi's Answer, Kaesang Lets The Community Judge The Consideration Of A Political Dynasty

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidaration Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep opened his voice about the opinion of a number of parties regarding the political dynasty being built by the family of President Joko Widodo.

Jokowi's youngest son answered that the issue of a political dynasty that was strengthening was similar to his father. Kaesang left it to the public to judge whether or not the allegations were true.

"So, the answer to the political dynasty, please, hand it over again to the community," said Kaesang after the declaration of the presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo-Gibran supported by PSI at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 24.

At the same location, Prabowo also defended Jokowi who was considered to perpetuate his power through dynastic political practices. In fact, he admitted that his family also carried out political dynasties to build the nation and state.

"I am from a political dynasty, I am his son Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo, I am his grandson Margono Djojohadikoesoemo. We are dynastic in the sense that our families always fight for the people," said Prabowo.

Prabowo appealed to all parties to see the positive side of the meaning of the political dynasty.

"My parents' two younger siblings died for the republic. So we take a positive understanding from the definition of a political dynasty is a patriotic family, a family that wants to serve the country and nation. What's wrong with it? Don't politicize it," he continued.

Previously, President Jokowi again responded to accusations related to political dynasties which were later pinned by a number of parties to his family. "Yes, it's the people who think," said Jokowi after attending the Investor's Daily Summit 2023 event in Jakarta.

A similar answer was previously conveyed by Jokowi, last Friday, October 13, 2023, on the sidelines of his activities in Indramayu, West Java.

However, on this occasion, Jokowi emphasized that in the election contestation, the community will be the holder of control who determines who the candidate will be elected.

"In the elections, both in the regional elections, the mayor's election, the election for governor election regents, the presidential election, all of them are the people, the people who determine are the people, the people who vote are also the people, not us, not the elite, not the party, that's democracy," he explained.

Recently, the term political dynasty has often been pinned to Jokowi's family, after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) paved the way for Jokowi's son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka to run as a candidate for vice president in the 2024 presidential election.

The Constitutional Court's decision was considered to have a conflict of interest, because Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman was Joko Widodo's brother-in-law, until finally Jokowi was accused of wanting to build a political dynasty by perpetuating the power of his family.
