Prabowo Considers Golkar To Leave The Party's Interest After Proposing Gibran To Be A Vice Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Gerindra Party who is also a presidential candidate (candidate) from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Prabowo Subianto, assessed that the Golkar Party's interests were released after nominating Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres)

This was conveyed by Prabowo after attending the Golkar Party Rapimnas, Saturday, October 21. From this activity, Gibran, who is the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), was proposed to be Prabowo's vice presidential partner.

"Golkar Rapimnas previously nominated Pak Airlangga as a presidential or vice presidential candidate but Golkar released the interests of the party, group, for the greater interest," Prabowo told reporters at the Golkar Party DPP office, Slipi, Jakarta.

"Of course it's an honor for me to accept it," continued the Minister of Defense (Menhan).

Later, Prabowo said, this proposal will be discussed with the general chairman of the party in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

The parties supporting Prabowo include the Gerindra Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Crescent Star Party (PBB), the Gelora Party, the Garuda Party, and PRIMA.

"Because we KIM are consisting of now eight parties, four parliamentary parties, and four non-perpetrators but also have roots. So usually we will have meetings, deliberations, and later we will announce our joint decision," he said.

"Of course we will take this proposal to the party chairman forum," concluded Prabowo.
