Harry Kane Releases England, Gareth Southgate Praises This Player
JAKARTA - Striker Harry Kane scored a brace that led England to the Euro 2024 finals after beating Italy 3-1. However, manager Gareth Southgate instead praised the young players who actually had an impact on the team even though they did not score in the match which was held at Wembley Stadium, Wednesday, October 18 in the morning WIB.
Kane played an important role in passing England to Germany. He did not only score goals that equalized and raised the enthusiasm and confidence of his colleagues.
The success of scoring a brace led Kane to have scored 24 goals while playing for the Three Lions at Wembley. He also broke the England legend Bobby Charlton's goal record.
Bayern Munich striker can be said to be playing an all-round. He dared to have physical duels with defenders. Even Southgate called Kane a visionary figure.
"Of course it's risky to just rely on him as a goal-scoring guarantee. But he does play an all-round. How he collides physically with his opponent's centre-back. His vision and ability to pass is extraordinary," Southgate praised Kane's brilliant performance.
According to him, Kane, who previously played at Tottenham Hotspur, looked fitter and really enjoyed returning to England from Germany. Even though he is no longer playing in the English Premier League, he remains an example for young players.
"He is a senior player who is a role model for young players," he said.
Not only Kane, Southgate also praised Jude Belingham for playing 'extraordinary'. The 20-year-old Real Madrid midfielder, according to Southgate, became the team's inspiration even though he did not score in that match.

"I was impressed by how he controlled the match. Jude's mentality was extraordinary considering his young age. He was already able to have an impact by showing maturity and humility. We were lucky to have him," said Southgate.
Bellingham has also had a major impact on Madrid since joining Borussia Dortmund.
He showed his sharpness by scoring 10 goals during Madrid's 10 matches. Southgate assessed Bellingham has grown rapidly since moving to Madrid.
"When playing with players who have such mentality and quality, you will definitely move up to a new level mentally, physically and technically," said Southgate. According to him, Bellingham's game is increasing as seen from performance on the field. He also looks confident when he leaves for the competition arena.
Bellingham will appear to be the pillar of England's strength at Euro 2024. After the dimming of young players like Jadon Sancho, now Bellingham will become one of the rising stars.
