Mahfud: Until Now There Has Been No Deal On Vice Presidential Candidates
SURABAYA - The name of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Human Rights (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD, accompanied the future presidential candidate (readpres) Ganjar Pranowo to strengthen. However, Mahfud emphasized that there has been no political party deal regarding this position.
"Until now, there has been no deal with my election (cawapres)," said Mahfud, after attending a public lecture at Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Surabaya, Monday, October 16.
Mahfud stated that his candidacy as a candidate for vice president is the decision of a political party. He invited political parties to take the decision to the existing mechanism.
According to him, until now no party has made an agreement with him regarding the vice president, including with Ganjar Pranowo.
"That's the decision of a political party, go ahead with the political party decide, and it will be brought to a mechanism available by law," he said.

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, said there was already one name that was ready to be announced to accompany Ganjar Pranowo. However, he has not been able to reveal who this figure is.
"Yes (one name) is ready to be announced, it's just a matter of being announced," said Hasto.
According to him, the name of Ganjar's vice president will be announced directly by the General Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri. The announcement will be made at the right moment.
"According to the KPU (registration) from October 19 to 25, of course this is a good momentum. We designed the elements of surprise," he concluded.
