Officially Supports Prabowo Subianto As Presidential Candidate In 2024, Projo: He Is A Criteria That Jokowi Intends

JAKARTA - Volunteers supporting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Projo, declared support for the General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The declaration was made after receiving Jokowi's direction at the Projo VI National Working Meeting at the Indonesia Arena GBK today.

"We have just opened the National Working Meeting VI Projo, where our Projo National Working Meeting has been opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi)," said General Chairperson (Ketum) Projo Budi Arie at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara 4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Saturday, October 14.

The Minister of Communication and Information said that Projo had concluded President Jokowi's directive regarding the criteria for presidential candidates that must be supported in the upcoming presidential election. The directive, said Budi, leads to the figure of the defense minister.

"And he (Jokowi) has conveyed several things, including his follow-up criteria. We from Projo conclude that the candidate in question is Mr. Prabowo Subianto," said Budi Arie.

Budi also revealed another reason why Projo finally decided to support Prabowo as a candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029. According to Projo, Prabowo's character is a true patriot.

"The Indonesian nation must have a character that does not give up, and Pak Prabowo is a true patriot. That's why we from Projo agreed to support Mr. Prabowo Subianto as a candidate for president of the Republic of Indonesia in the 2024 presidential election," said Budi Arie.

Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, also expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Projo. He called Projo's support a form of trust and a noble duty to serve the nation and state.

"This is an honor for me, a great honor. The trust you give me, I accept it as a mandate, as a noble assignment," said Prabowo.

The candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition said that he and President Jokowi were friends even though they had become rivals in the previous presidential election contestation.

"Once defeated, Jokowi came to Kertanegara and I am sure that you are Red and White and I accept the mandate from the people to support you as President," said Prabowo.
