The DPD of the West Sumatra Democratic Party (West Sumatra) has opened its voice about a member of the Padang Pariaman DPRD, West Sumatra named Januar Bakri, who was arrested by the police for allegedly being the perpetrator of the hit and run of a 9-year-old boy to death.Head of the Strategic Communications Agency (Bakomstra) of the West Sumatra Democratic Party DPD, Ari Prima, confirmed that there were cadres at the Padang Pariaman Regency DPRD named Januar Bakri.However, he admitted that he did not know whether the Januar in question in the collision case was Januar from the Democratic Party or not."Indeed, there are our cadres named Januar Bakri. However, until now we have not been able to confirm whether what is meant is Januar Bakri from the Democrats," Ari said when confirmed, Friday, October 6.Even so, Ari ensured that his party would continue to make efforts to confirm with various parties. Including to Januar Bakri as concerned."We are trying to confirm," said Ari.Ari admitted that until now his party had contacted Januar Bakri but there had been no response."We have contacted him, but he has not been able to connect. His cellphone has died from earlier," he said.Reportedly, Januar Bakri is suspected of being the perpetrator of the hit-and-run which caused a boy to die and bounced 254 meters. Currently, Januar has been arrested by the police but has not yet been a suspect.Januar is known to be the Chairman of the DPC of the Democratic Party of Padang Pariaman Regency for the period 2023-2028. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Honorary Board of the Padang Pariaman Regency DPRD.From the information circulating, the deadly incident occurred in Korong Paguah Duku, Nagari Kuraitaji, Nan Sabarais District on Tuesday, October 3, at around 21.00 WIB. After hitting the boy, Januar Bakri stepped on the gas, then fled.
The case was revealed based on tracking the police number (Nopol) of the Toyota Avanza vehicle driven by Januar. One of the vehicle's license plates was left at the scene.
