Jabodebek LRT Officially Operates, Commuter KRL Users Increase
JAKARTA - There was an increase in the number of Jabodetabek Commuter Line KRL users in September 2023. The increase in the number of KRL passengers occurred after the Jabodebek LRT officially started operating since August 2023.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Anne Purba said that in September 2023, the average user on weekdays was 905,845 people per day. The highest volume was recorded on Wednesday, September 27, which reached 952,595 people.
"When compared to the average user volume on weekdays in August 2023 yesterday, there was an increase of 3.55 percent or the average user volume was 874,754 people per day," Anne said in her statement, Wednesday, October 4.
Anne said the trend of increasing the number of KRL users was recorded at Commuter Line stations that were integrated with LRT stations.
At the Sudirman Commuter Line Station which is integrated with Dukuh Atas LRT Station, during September yesterday, the average number of users who boarded the station was 36,190 people per day.
"This figure is 32.29 percent higher than the average user volume which increased last August, which was 27,356 people per day," he said.
Then, the Cawang Commuter Line Station which is integrated with Cikoko LRT Station also experienced an upward trend. In September 2023, the average number of KRL users who rose at the station was 17,200 people per day or 14.75 percent higher than the average in August 2023, which was 14,989 people per day.

Anne continued, Jabodetabek Commuter Line stations are also integrated with intermodal, namely long-distance train trips such as those located at Jakarta Kota Station, Bekasi Station, Cikarang Station, Pasar Senen Station, Jatinegara Station and Rangkasbitung Station.
"That way, it is hoped that in the future more people will switch to public transportation in mobilizing," he added.
