The Deputy Minister Of Communication And Information Expressed The Role Of Social Media In Realizing The 2024 Peaceful Election
JAKARTA - The presence of the internet and the development of social media encourage the ease of political communication and the provision of political information quickly, on target, especially during the 2024 election.
According to Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, social media currently plays a very important role in influencing political processes, including shaping perspectives and increasing public awareness of the latest social issues.
"Digitalization has presented a decentralization of political communication. Internet politics has made all parties who are actively speaking up," Nezar said in his official broadcast quoted Monday, October 2.
With the convenience offered, according to him, communication activities, exchange of opinions, and mobilization of political activities, it is easier for anyone to do and wherever they are.
Nezar also gave an example of the use of social media which has succeeded in encouraging the participation of young voters in the United States, On the other hand, he reminded the potential for information chaos in line with the increasing intensity of social media use.

Nezar explained that there are at least three forms of information chaos that are often encountered. The first is misinformation, where the spread of misinformation created without intention causes harm.
"Second, disinformation, namely the spread of misinformation on purpose. Third, malls, namely the spread of factual information aimed at harming certain parties," he added.
To anticipate the potential for information chaos comprehensively, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics initiated the 2024 Peace Election Campaign.
Not to forget, Kominfo also invited the involvement of relevant stakeholders to jointly amplify the message of derivatives of the Damai Election.
