Match Schedule for the Indonesian Contingent at the 2023 Asian Games Today: Rowing and Modern Pentathlon Teams in Action
JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent will continue their struggle at the 2023 Asian Games today, Wednesday, September 20. There are several new sports that will be contested on the second day.
Indonesian rowing and modern pentathlon athletes will begin their struggle at the 2023 Asian Games. They are expected to follow the positive results achieved by their compatriots who competed earlier in the day.
At the Fuyang Water Sports Centre, Chelsea Corputty and Mutiara Rahma will open the day by competing in Heat 1 of the women's lightweight double sculls at 09.00 a.m. local time (GMT+8).
The women's rowing duo will then join their two other colleagues in the preliminary round for the women's quadruple sculls in the afternoon at 16.30.
The Indonesian rowing team also played a number of other events today, namely men's lightweight double sculls, women's double sculls, men's double sculls, men's pair, men's eight, men's four and men's quadruple sculls, according to the records of the Indonesian NOC team.
Then, Caroline Andita Bangun and Samuel Christian Matulawata became Indonesia's representatives in the modern pentathlon event which was held at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center.
The modern pentathlon at the Hangzhou Asian Games competes in a combination of five sports disciplines, namely horse riding, fencing (epee), 200m freestyle swimming, and laser run which is divided into 3km cross country running and laser shooting.
This Asian Games will be the last to feature horse riding in the modern pentathlon, because it will be replaced by obstacle racing after the 2024 Paris Olympics, Antara reported.

Meanwhile, in volleyball, Indonesia will meet a tough opponent, namely Japan, in the men's indoor volleyball pool F match at 19.00 p.m. local time. Dio Zulfikri et al. previously achieved a landslide 3-0 victory over the Philippines on Tuesday.
Still in the volleyball arena, the Indonesian beach volleyball team will continue the match after their two men's teams and two women's teams swept to victory on Tuesday.
The first beach volleyball match at 09.00 a.m. will see Danangsyah Pribadi/Sofyan Efendi who will play against the Qatar men's team, followed by the duo Dhita Juliana/Desi Ratnasari who will try to maintain positive results in pool B against the Philippines women's team.
Bintang Akbar/Mohammad Ashfiya met the Thai men's team in pool D, before two Indonesian women's teams faced Kazakhstan and Hong Kong in the afternoon.
