Vice President Ma'ruf Hopes Raw Materials For Halal Products Are Available In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that the raw materials for halal products that have been produced abroad can be available in Indonesia.

"Indeed, there are many raw materials for halal products in Indonesia that are also still imported from China. So we are still not able to make the raw materials for import substitution, so there are still such latins that are still here," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the Shanghai Mosque, China, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin conveyed this after the "Meeting of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia with representatives of LPPOM MUI and Halal Sector Entrepreneurs in China" at the LPPOM MUI Office of China which is also the Shanghai Al-Amin Consultant Office, a subsidiary of Shanghai Al-Amin Biotech Co. Ltd.

"Here (China) also (the raw material) is certified halal, but in the future we hope that the raw materials are made in Indonesia so that we no longer import raw materials such as for pharmaceuticals, we import raw materials. Therefore, the source needs to be certified here," said the Vice President.

He hopes that raw materials such as collagen, gelatin and sulfate choroditin can be made in Indonesia.

"This is the importance of our representatives building relationships to develop halal products, both certification and investment in Indonesia," continued the Vice President.

According to the Vice President, although the MUI LPPOM has a representative office in Shanghai, the halal certification process is still being carried out in Indonesia.

"The representatives are the ones who 'handled' here, who process the results of the process using our standard Indonesia, there are thousands of halal products here, but on the contrary, they also market our products. There are a lot of products, fire ships, Mayora, I think many of them and have also succeeded in attracting Chinese investors to Indonesia," said the Vice President.
