Minister Of Religion: Saudi Arabia Only Gives Quota Of 2,000 Hajj Officers For 2024, Down Drastically From 2023
Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said Saudi Arabia would only provide quotas of 2,000 Indonesian Hajj officers for the implementation of the 1445 Hijri/2024 AD pilgrimage.
"I can't imagine next year, what I think needs to be talked about is more serious, in more detail because our quota of officers is only 2,000 next year given by the Government of Saudi Arabia," said the Minister of Religion during a working meeting with Commission VIII DPR reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.
Yaqut said the quota given by Saudi Arabia was certainly smaller or half of the quota of hajj officers at the Hajj 1444 Hijri/2023 which reached 4,200 people.
At least the quota of Hajj officers, he said, would be a problem in itself and have an impact on services for pilgrims.
Moreover, the 1445 Hijri/2024 hajj quota given by Saudi Arabia is the same as the previous year's implementation of 221,000 people.
This condition will be a problem, considering that next year the portion of pilgrims for the elderly (elderly) is still high.
"4,200 saja masih tampak-bolong. Nah sekarang kita hanya diberikan kuota 2.000 tahun depan," kata dia.
He admitted that he did not know the basis for the provision of quotas for hajj officers, which were only 2,000 people.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
The plan is for the Ministry of Religion to hold a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj to question this.
"That's what we will ask, why is the quota of officers only 2,000, while the quota for pilgrims is the same as 221 thousand. So of course this will be a separate problem," said Minister of Religion Yaqut.
