PKB Calls The Anies-Cak Imin Pair Ready To Continue Jokowi's Program

TUBAN - Deputy Secretary of the Shura Council of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Maman Imanul Haq stated that the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar are ready to continue the program of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

"As long as the program is good. For us who are good, we will continue and strengthen," said Maman Imanul Haq, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

Maman emphasized that PKB will always maintain, respect, and appreciate whatever has been done well by any predecessor leader in Indonesia.

"We respect the achievements obtained by Pak Jokowi in infrastructure with international relations. However, we have to clean up the diversity again," he said.

So far, according to him, there have been bad habits. Every regime change or government must change policies. The field of education, for example, changes in the regime are followed by changes in the curriculum to budget.

In fact, the member of Commission VIII of the DPR revealed that the PKB Syuro Council would propose a new name for the coalition, namely a sustainable update.

The pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar was declared a presidential and vice presidential candidate in Surabaya, Saturday (2/9). The declaration was witnessed directly by the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, and the NasDem Party elite and the PKB elite.

According to the KPU schedule, registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19, 2023 to November 25, 2023.

In Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu) it is stated that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the presidential/vice-presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
