166 Tons Of Illegal Imported Goods Destroyed By The Ministry Of Trade, Value Reaches IDR 21 Billion
The Ministry of Trade destroyed 166 tons of illegal imported goods worth more than IDR 21 billion. These imported goods come from 17 business actors.
The findings were obtained by the Bekasi Commercial Order Supervision Center (BPTN) when monitoring imported goods after going through the customs (post border) area. This activity was carried out in West Java and Banten Provinces throughout January-August 2023.
Plt. Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order, Moga Simatupang, said that BPTN was formed with the aim of protecting consumers and national interests throughout Indonesia and protecting local products produced domestically.
"We hope that this work unit can facilitate the implementation of post-border surveillance activities in the regions," he said in an official statement, Friday, September 1.
In the period January-August 2023, said Moga, BPTN Bekasi has supervised 101 business actors with 150 PIB of Goods Import Notifications (PIB).
Of the 101 business actors supervised, he continued, 39 business actors (61 PIB) did not commit violations, 55 business actors (82 PIBs) were found to have committed violations, and a total of 7 business actors (7 PIBs) are still in the clarification process.

"Of the 55 business actors who violated, 17 business actors had been independently destroyed and two business actors were recommended to ban import activities. Meanwhile, 36 business actors were given a warning letter," he explained.
Meanwhile, Director of Trade Order Tommy Andana emphasized that business actors who do not comply with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 20 of 2021 in conjunction with the Regulation of the Minister of Trade 25 of 2022 and Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 26 of 2021 in conjunction with 21 of 2023 will be subject to sanctions in accordance with statutory provisions.
Post border supervision will continue to be carried out by BPTN Bekasi in its working areas, namely West Java Province and Banten Province so that people are protected from the negative impact of using illegal imported goods.
