Police Investigate Case Of 2 Injured Students Entangled In Crossing Cables In Pekanbaru
PEKANBARU - The Tampan Sector Police, Pekanbaru City, Riau investigated the incident of two students falling from a motorcycle after his neck was caught in a cable that crossed the road while crossing SM Amin Street.
Head of the Detective Criminal Unit of the Handsome Police, AKP Aspikar, confirmed the incident of a cross cable on SM Amin Street that injured the student. The parents of the two have also reported the transverse cable incident to the police.
After receiving reports from the victim's parents, officers have also headed to the scene to find out who owns the cable.
"Reporting it is not written, it is only verbal. We have gone to the scene of the case to find out and investigate the owner of the cable," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.
Two students known to be brothers named Lutfi and Faiz suffered injuries to the neck due to being caught in a cable.
"Two students fell because of the transverse cable. As a result, the victim suffered injuries to the neck," he explained.
This incident was quite surprising because it was only last week that the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setia paid attention to the irregularity of cable packaging in Pekanbaru City. "Don't take victims like in Jakarta," said Budi Arie.

He said the installation of electrical cables, internet providers or irregular paid television network cables is currently a problem in big cities in Indonesia. According to him, the installation of these cables could be planted in the ground or tidied up so that it does not pose a threat.
One of Pekanbaru residents, Eko, admitted that he was annoyed with the installation of internet network cables near his house in the Panam area.
"Don't let it go viral first or take victims, then fix them," he said.
