7 Motorcyclists Against A Truck Collision In Lenteng Agung Can't Compensate Jasa Raharja
JAKARTA PT Jasa Raharja refused to provide compensation to seven victims of an accident that was hit by a truck in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta. This is because the accident was caused by the victim's mistake in fighting the traffic flow.
The traffic accident involving a truck with a number of motorists occurred on Tuesday, August 22.
"That for drivers or drivers who have an accident and are the cause of the collision of two or more motorized vehicles, Jasa Raharja does not guarantee it," said Jasa Raharja President Director Rivan A. Purwantono, in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 23.
Rivan said the decision not to provide compensation refers to Law (UU) Number 34 of 1964 in conjunction with Government Regulation Number 18 of 1965.
Furthermore, Rivan explained the category of victims of other traffic accidents who were not entitled to Jasa Raharja compensation, including single accident victims, and accident victims for breaking through railroad doors.
Then, the victim who had an accident was proven to be committing a crime. For example, a thief who is speeding up on the road because he wants to run away.
Then, the accident victim who was proven drunk, the accident victim who was intentional by suicide or attempted suicide, and the victim was injured by participating in the speed race, such as car racing and motorcycle racing.
Therefore, Jasa Raharja appealed to all road users to always obey traffic regulations and drive in an orderly manner.
"Thus, it is hoped that it can maintain mutual safety and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future," said Rivan.
Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic Police, Inspector General. Pol. Firman Shantyabudi said that the accident that occurred in Lenteng Agung occurred because of the poor compliance of the traffic community.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
"The dual-wheeled motorist's non-activity to applicable regulations is one of the causes of the accident. Of course this is very unfortunate and for motorists who cause accidents that do not deserve compensation," said Firman.
Firman hopes that this incident will be a lesson for road users to be orderly in traffic. This is because accidents will result in harm to all parties.
"We know that traffic accidents will result in losses, both material and non-material. Losses are also felt by all parties, both victims and those suspected of being the cause of the accident," he said.
