President Jokowi Visits Kenyan Independence Fighter Jomo Kenyatta's Grave

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo visited the tomb of the independence fighter Kenya Jomo Kenyatta at Jomo Kenyatta's Mausoleum, Nairobi, Republic of Kenya.

The visit was made after President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, Kenya.

Reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 21, when he arrived at the tomb complex of Jomo Kenyatta, President Widodo was greeted with the national anthem Indonesia Raya.

Then President Jokowi walked to the hero's grave and placed a wreath on it.

Jomo Kenyatta is an independence fighter and Kenyan politician who served as Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964 and later served as President from 1964 to 1978.

Accompanying the President are Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya Mohamad Hery Saripudin.
