General Dudung: Our Papuan Brothers, If You Have Difficulty, You Must Help

JAYAPURA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman promised to continue to help the difficulties of the Papuan people through various programs that have been launched by the Indonesian Army.

This was emphasized by Kasad when meeting face to face with the Papuan Forkopimda, which was also attended by various elements of society, such as traditional leaders and local religious leaders, at the Swiss Bell Hotel Ball Room, Jayapura, Papua, Friday, August 18.

Dudung said that the existence of the TNI unit stationed in Papua was not aimed at fighting the Papuan people, but to help with the difficulties faced by the community.

"Every time they (TNI troops) will go on duty to Papua, I always emphasize to help the people in Papua. Because the Papuan people are our brothers and sisters, and it is our duty together, if our brothers are experiencing difficulties, we must help," he explained.

He emphasized to all TNI AD units from the Kodam to Babinsa levels, to always collaborate with local governments to jointly build and advance Papuan land.

"We need to agree together, that the red and white will continue to fly. There are many activities that we have launched, such as food security (food estate), stunting handling, and water stalls, where several regencies that previously lacked water have now been able to flow water. Also, what we are doing is getting out of our conscience, that the Army must be present in the midst of the people, overcoming whatever the difficulties are," said Kasad.
