Pertamina Provides B35 Fuel At All Gas Stations
JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga as a distributor of fuel throughout Indonesia has provided B35 fuel throughout Indonesia. Biodiesel is the result of a mixture of crude palm oil into diesel fuel oil.
President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, said that as of August 2023, 119 fuel terminals managed by Pertamina throughout Indonesia had distributed B35 for consumption by public transportation.
"In accordance with the B35 distribution roadmap in 2023, Pertamina Patra Niaga has adjusted the distribution of B35 in all managed fuel terminals, so 100 percent of gas stations throughout Indonesia have provided B35," said Riva, Thursday, August 17.
Riva continued, in addition to distributing to gas stations, B35 is also distributed to consumers or strategic industrial partners of Pertamina as an effort to maximize the vegetable fuel program run at Pertamina Patra Niaga.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
The energy transition towards more environmentally friendly fuel and Biofuel will continue to run Pertamina Patra Niaga. This is our support and contribution in reducing emissions from the transportation sector through better fuel use. This is our step to support the national target of the new and renewable energy mix by 31 percent in 2050, as well as the ideals of Net Zero Emission Indonesia 2060, "explained Riva.
Reflecting on the implementation of B30, continued Riva, B35 is expected to have a more significant impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, projected to even reduce up to 34.9 million tons of CO2 from the estimated absorption of B35 of 13.15 million KL.
Previously, the implementation of Biodiesel had a very positive impact. In 2022, the distribution of 10.5 million Kilo Liters (KL) B30 or the vegetable mix of 30 percent had a positive impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions by around 27.8 million tons of CO2, not to mention in terms of saving state foreign exchange of up to 8.34 billion and absorbing more than 1.3 million workers.
