EMPC 2023 Ready To Be Held, Winky Wiryawan And SIHK Looking For New Seeds Of Electronic Music
JAKARTA - The contestation of Indonesian electronic music producers or Electronic Music Producer Contest (EMPC) will resume this year. Since its premiere in 2019, EMPC has consistently become a medium for Indonesian electronic music producer talents to further develop and then release their work to the world music market.
In this fifth season of EMPC, ICEPERIENCE.ID as the organizer in collaboration with STMPD RCRDS, a Dutch-class music label company founded by Martin Garrix. STMPD RCRDS has been widely known on world electronic music scene and also houses a number of international musicians ranging from Julian Jordan, Justin Mylo, Mattise & Sadko, Dubvision, KVSH to Bleu Clair.
This collaboration with STMPD RCRDS adds to the long list of world music labels that have been involved in EMPC. Previously, there was collaboration with other international labels, namely SPINNIN Records, Barong Family, 88rising, to Astrakwerks. With this collaboration with STMPD RCRDS, the winner of EMPC 2023 will certainly win millions of rupiah rewards as well as a valuable opportunity to release his music work globally.

In order to realize the potential and find quality music works from the participants during the scoring and judging process, EMPC 2023 appointed a number of famous names on Indonesian electronic music scene as judges. They are Winky Wiryawan and SIHK. In addition, to increase the quality weight of the judging and curation of musical works, STMPD RCRDS also deployed their cold-handed figures, namely Steven Hiemstra and Quirijn Smits to enter the judges line-up.
"With the collaboration with STMPD RCRDS as the world's big label and the stages of competition with the judges who are very competent, we believe that the music works of the winners will have world-class music quality and be glimpsed by the international music market," Sigit added.
At this year's event, EMPC is optimistic that the submission track will increase compared to previous years where the number of submissions was never less than 1,000 tracks. Sigit explained that the 2023 EMPC will begin with the registration stage for the participants which will be opened from August 14 to September 9, 2023.
Each participant must upload their original work on the website www.iceperience.id Then the curation stage of the judges gradually starts from Top 100, Top 20, Top 5, to final.
Meanwhile, STMPD RCRDS through its official statement said it was always looking for talented musical talents regardless of who and where they came from. In this era, quality electronic music can come from any part of the world, and collaboration with EMPC is the right example of how to find and support talented musicians, especially from Indonesia.
