HMS Center Reminds Government To Really Pay Attention To 3 Pillars Of National Development
JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Prosperous Society (HMS) Center, Hardjuno Wiwoho reminded the government to really pay attention to three important pillars of national development, namely human development (HR) and technology, food independence and renewable energy development.
The reason is, Indonesia will become an underdeveloped country when 3 important components of development are not seriously worked on.
"If the leader does not develop the three basic pillars of development, I think our country will not progress," Hardjuno Wiwoho told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, August 14.
According to him, Indonesia will really enter an era of darkness or be more primitive if it ignores this important element of development.
"We all use smartphones but remember that chimpanzees and gorillas in a study can also press smartphone buttons. Indonesians using smartphones are thought to be smart people even though chimpanzees and gorillas can also," he explained.
Hardjuno admitted that it was not easy to catch up, because it took centuries. Just look at Jakarta and Papua. Both are in Indonesia but far from development.
Papua's lag behind Jakarta, according to Hardjuno, is the same as Indonesia's lag behind developed countries.
"Our kroni system closed it all because tofu was just looking for shortcuts. Strange, for example, BLBI debtors collect debts from the state. It is impossible if the authorities do not maintain it," said Hardjuno.
Furthermore, Hardjuno reminded that if a government wants to be remembered in history, the key is not only to build physical. But for example, the prophet and other great leaders who prioritize the development of their human resources with skills and future vision.
Hardjuno reminded the VOC to build the capital city of Jakarta majestically in its era. But to this day people remember the VOC as only a tyrannical colonialist.
"So, if you don't build Indonesian people, don't expect Indonesian leaders today to be remembered in the future," he said.
In today's times, Hardjuno explained, a country if it wants to advance and survive centuries later, requires a comprehensive development strategy that includes food security, energy development and human resource development and technology.
"If all three are not built and any physical building wants IKN, we will always be underdeveloped. Indonesia's investment in technology is only 0.15 percent of GDP. Even though developed countries can be 2-3 percent. Investment for BTS alone is not built even though the budget has been issued, corrupted 80 percent," said Hardjuno.
Hardjuno assessed that it is difficult for Indonesian leaders to build 3 national development bases. One of the reasons is the acute illness of corruption in Indonesia. In fact, many Indonesian officials are suspected of only looking for short-term projects for personal gain.
For example, Foxconn, there is an allegation that nothing has been broken. How did that happen? Yes, because the existing system, from the top down, has not been confirmed. If a system like this is continued from top to bottom, then no one wants to invest," said Hardjuno.

Hardjuno again gave a warning to Indonesian leaders not to think too much about ceremonial things.
As if the leader had built a magnificent building or city, it would be remembered in the future. But that's not the case.
"A leader will be remembered if he really works as a servant of the people," he explained.
Currently, Hardjuno explained, leaders must be highly oriented forward. Because if this country cannot compete and backs down, what is remembered from the leader is only corruption. If one day there is a disaster, people will say that the leader is the cause of all the damage.
"We owe to pay BLBI debtors that are not stopped, instead we are kept as a kronium. If a disaster comes worse than 1998, people will remember whose legacy is this. The SDA has run out the demographic bonus. The remaining debt. The state debt is borne by the people. That is the legacy left to our children and grandchildren who will judge us. Because all physical development will rot in time. The eternal is only a symbol of negligence, a symbol of corruption, a symbol of the law that can be traded, "concluded Hardjuno.
