Mother And Child At Leles Garut Arrested By Police For Involved In Making Nominal Various Counterfeit Money
GARUT - Mother and child were arrested by the police on suspicion of making counterfeit rupiah denominations of Rp. 10,000 to Rp. 100,000 at her home, Leles, Garut Regency, West Java. The money is planned to be used for shopping for the perpetrators to get real money."The police arrested two perpetrators on suspicion of making and distributing counterfeit money," said Leles Police Chief AKP Agus Kustanto when contacted by cell phone in Garut, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 13.The arrests began with the results of the development of one suspect who was arrested by residents because he was caught shopping using money allegedly fake Rp100 thousand denominations.Furthermore, Agus said, the results of the examination led to two people who were mothers and children with the initials R and U as counterfeit money makers. The police then arrested them in Leles District."Both of them were arrested after officers interrogated the first perpetrator who was arrested, namely a man with the initials RE," he said.The evidence that was secured by officers was in the form of counterfeit money and 88 pieces of Rp20 thousand in print, Rp100 thousand in 16 pieces, and Rp10 thousand in 20 pieces, and various other denominations which were still half finished as many as 116 pieces."There are 116 pieces of semi-finished money, then Rp. 100,000 that have not been cut, there is also evidence of computer equipment along with a CPU and colored ink, printer units, and a lamating or heating machine unit," he said.The police chief said that his staff is currently still developing the case of the syndicate printing and circulating counterfeit rupiah currency, which is suspected to be other perpetrators in the practice of counterfeit money.
"Further investigation is still being carried out because there could be other perpetrators in the syndicate of counterfeit money makers," he said.
