KPK Suspects Someone Will Help Paulus Tannos Change Identity When Buron
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) cannot understand the fugitive in the corruption case of procuring electronic ID cards or e-KTP, Paulus Tannos can change identities. This raises suspicions that there are parties who help these entrepreneurs. "This is what we continue to explore and analyze whether the name changes are made when he is in the country for example, or if there are parties who deliberately help change his name," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, August 10. This suspicion is getting bigger because identity change should not be possible when Paulus is abroad. Ali said, there are documents that must be taken care of and need a court decision regarding the name change. "There are necessary legal processes, yes," he stressed. KPK ensures that it will explore the process of change. In addition, Ali said, they will also consider legal steps for those who helped Paulus during the escape including changing his identity. Previously, the KPK revealed that Paulus Tannos no longer holds an Indonesian passport. He is now on the passport of one of the countries in South Africa. As a result of this identity change, the KPK failed to bring Paulus home to account for his actions. In fact, investigators have found him in neighboring Indonesia. As a reminder, the KPK is not only pursuing Paulus Tannos. Currently there are other fugitives being chased.
