Shinta Bachir's Husband Doesn't Want To Attend Trial, Hopes Verstek's Divorce Trial Will Be Cut Off

JAKARTA - Shinta Bachir's mediation trial with her husband at the East Jakarta Religious Court (PA) on Tuesday, August 8 was declared a failure. Just like the previous mediation hearing, Indra Kristianto, the husband of Shinta Bachir, was again absent and only represented by his attorney, Syarifuddin Nasution.

"The mediation will fail, meaning there will be no peace here. The case will proceed to trial on August 22," said Syarifuddin Nasution at the East Jakarta PA on Tuesday, August 8.

Syarifuddin said that his client had agreed to divorce Shinta Bachir. However, he was reluctant to tell the reason why Indra now accepted the decision to divorce.

"It's fixed. In the end, Indra and Shinta decided to finish or divorce. Here I can't show it, but there has been a divorce agreement signed by Shinta and Indra," he said.

Given the age of marriage which is still four months old, there are no other demands that will be submitted by Indra Kristianto besides hoping that the legal process can run quickly and both parties can return to their respective lives.

Syarifuddin also said that his party would not be present at the upcoming trial. He hopes that this divorce trial will end with a verstek decision.

"I will not attend, let the verdict be verstek. And I will not hinder Mbak Shinta's side," he said.

Given the work of his client as an entrepreneur, Syarifuddin stated that Indra did not want exposure to his divorce case. He hopes this divorce can run and end without any noise.

"He's a businessman, not a celebrity, who actually has no advantage for him to use his name or drop his name," said Syarifuddin Nasution.

For information, the verstek decision is the decision handed down by the panel of judges without the presence of the defendant and for no valid reason even though it has been officially and properly summoned.
