SAR Team Searches For 2 Crew Members Drowning In Halsel Waters
TERNATE - The Search and Rescue Office of the Ternate Basarnas, North Maluku (Malut) stated that the joint SAR team continued SAR operations on the third day by searching for two crew members of the Modern Putra Samudera LCT ship who were declared missing.
"Entering the third day, the joint SAR team continues to search for two victims of the LCT Modern Putra Samudera ship that sank in the waters of Halsel," said Head of the Ternate Basarnas, Fathur Rahman, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.
He stated that the two victims in the search were Haliwela (41 years old) from Ambon City, Mateos Mustam (50 years old) from Ambon City who drowned while sailing with the Modern Putra Samudra LCT carrying heavy equipment on the Weda Harbor route to Sorong, West Papua.
Meanwhile, the victim who died in this accident was Fredrik Benjamin Syah (59 years) from Ambon City.
In addition to finding one crew member dead, the joint SAR team found two crew members safe and all the victims of the sinking ship were evacuated by rubber boat to Basarnas Ship.
