Viral, Son of South Sulawesi DPRD Deputy Speaker Recklessly Drives a Pajero, Hits A Motorbike, Got Ticket Sanction
MAKASSAR - The incident of a viral traffic accident on social media involved the son of the leader of the South Sulawesi DPRD, Muh Irfan Fauzan Erbe, which caused the driver to fall and was eventually fined by the police.
The incident where the motorbike rider fell because he was shocked to see the strobe light on the vehicle of the son of the DPRD leadership, occurred on Urip Sumoharjo Street, Makassar, on August 5, 2023.
"Identification has been carried out and the vehicle has been secured and traffic violations (tickets) have been taken," Head of Makassar Polrestabes Traffic Police AKBP Amin Toha at the Makassar Urip Sumoharjo Police Post, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.
The sanctions applied, he said, are Article 283 Law on driving vehicles on roads that are not appropriate, then Article 287 Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning the use of Strobe which should not be used by civil society.
Meanwhile, the car he was driving was a Mitsubishi Pajero, said Amin, identified by police number DD 904 which is now being detained at the Makassar Polrestabes for fines. However, he was not detained.
"The driver already has a 20-year-old driver's license. The reason is he is in a hurry. The car is detained to create a deterrent effect so it doesn't happen again," he said.
Regarding how long the detention period for the operational car for the leadership of the DPRD, he said, there are two ways, namely if you have admitted your mistake, you can pay a BRIva ticket fine, maybe it can be faster. The two following the trial may take up to a week.
"If the license plate is genuine, we can identify it at Resident because it is genuine. Now we have taken action according to the violation. Because whoever commits a violation, we will take action," he emphasized.
In a separate place, Ni'matulla Erbe's father, when giving a press statement to journalists, stated that the case had been handed over to the police for prosecution.
"Yes, that's true, that's my son. That's why the Polrestabes (police) called him concerned, the car was fined. I was also on the phone, I said if it's a serious violation, just hold on," Ni'matullah told reporters in his office.
However, he said, based on police information, the incident was a minor traffic violation, and apparently there were no victims.
"I was visited by my son, he said that information had been taken, BAP, the car was detained and given a ticket. Maybe tomorrow we will pay the fine for the ticket," said the chairman of the South Sulawesi Democratic Party DPD.
He explained, the vehicle used in question was an operational car, and not an official car. The official car used is an Alphard car. The operational car in question was given by the Secretariat of the South Sulawesi DPRD to the leadership, but did not receive a transport allowance (gasoline) and was used for household needs while in office.
