Conflict Due To Persecution Case, NTB Monjok-Taliwang Residents Finally Make Peace
NTB - Residents of the Monjok and Karang Taliwang neighborhoods, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who were involved in the conflict finally agreed to make peace.
The police also facilitated a peace agreement between the two environmental residents by making a written statement at the Sandubaya Police Headquarters, Mataram City, Monday, August 7 evening.
Head of the Mataram Police, Kombes Pol. Mustofa said that with this peace agreement, it indicated that the conflict that had previously occurred between the residents of the two neighborhoods had been resolved.
"As we all know that this problem arises only because of personal problems. So, with this agreement (peace), there will be no more problems between residents," said Mustofa.
The peace process also involved the families of the victims and the perpetrators and victims involved in the persecution case.
The Head of the Monjok and Karang Taliwang neighborhoods, community leaders, and the TNI, were also present at the peace agreement.
In this activity, Mustofa reminded all residents not to be easily provoked so that security and public order are maintained properly.
"Don't be easily provoked by the sound of firecrackers and so on (triggering new problems), because this has been resolved. So, if anyone tries to provoke the situation, we will take firm action," he said.
The follow-up to this peace agreement will also conduct sweeps in the two neighboring environments with the aim of confiscating homemade weapons and sharp weapons.
"If there is, we will find it, we will confiscate it," he said.
Regarding the persecution case that has determined three residents from Karang Taliwang, Mustofa said that his party would solve it by implementing a restorative justice system.
"Because this peace is not made up, purely from the wishes of each party. So, for the case of persecution, we will solve it through the RJ (Restorative Justice) process," said Mustofa.

Regarding this peace agreement, the Head of the Karang Taliwang Siin Environment said that his citizens were committed to solving problems.
"Therefore, we thank the government and police officers who have facilitated us to resolve this issue," said Siin.
He also together with the Head of the Monjok Environment have committed and agreed not to repeat this incident again.
"This is just a problem for young people. It's not a problem for the village. So, we have resolved all of this in a good way," he said.
He also realized that social conflict greatly disrupted the economic business of residents, most of whom work as traders.
The same thing was conveyed by the Head of the Monjok Environment, Suhaemi, who emphasized that his party agreed to protect their respective environments. The problem that can disrupt public security and order will not be repeated.
"We have agreed to live in harmony together. Both of them maintain environmental security," said Suhaemi.
