Langka Binturung Animals Successfully Released In The Great Nature Reserve Of Pasi West Kalimantan
PONTIANAK - Satu Binturung (Arctics binturong), a type of large shell, has been released into the Pasi Grand Nature Reserve in the Singkawang City area, West Kalimantan Province.
"This shark is a protected species because its status is already a rare animal, so it needs conservation efforts," said Head of the West Kalimantan Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Wiwied Widodo, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.
According to him, the animal, which was handed over by a resident of Singkawang City, to the Pasi Region Conservation Resort officer, was undergoing rehabilitation for about six months at the transit base of the Singkawang Region III Conservation Section Office before being released to the Pasi Highway Reserve.
"Several procedures such as health checks and behavioral assessments have also been carried out to ensure these animals are ready to be released back into the wild," he said.
