Today Mount Anak Krakatau Vomits Volcanic Ash 15 Times, Yesterday 53 Times
JAKARTA - Mount Anak Krakatau (GAK) in the Sunda Strait erupted 15 small times today, Wednesday 19 July. The height of the volcanic ash eruption reached 200 meters from the crater.
Head of the Mount Anak Monitoring Post Krakatau Andi Suardi said, until 13.40 WIB Mount Anak Krakatau experienced an eruption 15 times.
"Still like yesterday, small eruptions still often occur, and today from 00.00 to 14.00 WIB there have been 15 eruptions, with smoke levels 200 meters from their peak," said Andi Suardi, at the Mount Anak Krakatau Monitoring Post, Hargopancuran, Rajabasa District, South Lampung, Wednesday, July 19, confiscated by Antara.
He also said that the eruption still occurs frequently, on the previous day Mount Anak Krakatau erupted 53 times.
"Yesterday, 53 eruptions, and so far there have been no signs of a decline in the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau," he said.

Andi appealed to the public and fishermen not to approach the Mount Anak Krakatau area at a radius of five kilometers.
"Currently Mount Anak Krakatau is at level III on standby with the recommendations of the community, fishermen, mountain climbers do not approach this mountain within a radius of 5 kilometers," said Andi Suardi.
To note, Mount Anak Krakatau Island is a small volcanic island, a member of the Krakatau Islands, which is positioned between Sertung Island on its west side and Rakata Kecil Island or Panjang Island on its east side which is administratively located in Download Pedada District, South Lampung Regency.
