ITCIKU Releases 7,787 Hectares Of Land For North Penajam Paser Residents
PENAJAM - Management of PT International Timber Corporation In Indonesia Kartika Utama (ITCIKU) returned 7,787 hectares of land to the state, then released or handed over to residents of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, through the local district government.
"About 7,787 hectares of managed land have been returned to the state with the status of Other Use Areas (APL)," explained PT ITCIKU Public Affairs & Government Nicholay Aprilindo in Penajam, Friday, then handed over to residents through the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.
The land is located in parts of Riko Village, Penajam District, as well as parts of Pemaluran Village, Maridan Village and Telemow Village, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency.
He hopes that the North Penajam Paser Regency Government will give the 7,787 hectares of land to people who are entitled to the interests of local residents.
The Regency Government, he stressed, is obliged to distribute the land that PT ITCIKU has released to residents who really deserve it, so that people have land and live on the land.
"We have released the land as APL to be handed over to residents who do not yet own the land," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.
Furthermore, those who have the authority to distribute 7,787 hectares of land that have been returned to the state by PT ITCIKU to the public are the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.
The return or release of land is based on the Permit Extension Map of PT ITCIKU with the Attachment of Decree (SK) of the Minister of Forestry Number: 160/Menhut-II/2012, dated March 27, 2012.

The concession area of PT ITCKU in East Kalimantan covering an area of 173,395 hectares is located in parts of North Penajam Paser Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency and West Kutai Regency.
PT ITCIKU juga mengembalikan lahan kepada negara dengan status APL17,000hektare untuk diserahkan kepada warga Kabupaten Kutai Barat, dan49.391hektare untuk dibagikan kepada warga Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, demikian Nicholay Aprilindo.
