Four Ukrainians Killed In Russia's Largest Kalibr Missile Attack On Lviv, President Zelensky: There Must Be Reply
JAKARTA - At least four people were killed by Russian missiles in Lviv City on Thursday, the biggest attack on civilian infrastructure in the Western Ukrainian city since last year's invasion.
Ukrainian air force said Russia had attacked Lviv with Kalibr missiles launched from the Black Sea. Seven of the 10 missiles launched were shot down.
President Volodymyr Zelensky posted a one-minute video showing buildings with shattered roofs and upper floors, broken windows and rescue workers looking for survivors who were still alive between the rubble.
"Unfortunately, someone was injured and killed. My condolences to the families of the victims," President Zelensky said on the Telegram app.
"There will definitely be retaliation against the enemy. That will be a real reply," he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs said the death toll reached four, and said 32 people were injured, including a child.
Meanwhile, emergency services said they had managed to save seven people from the rubble and evacuated 64 others.
Separately, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi called the attack the biggest during the war that had lasted more than 16 months against civilian infrastructure in Lviv.
Sadovyi said several residences, office centers, student campuses, and a school were damaged. He said windows in hundreds of apartments were destroyed and damage would cause heavy losses.
