Deputy Regent Of Agam Still Waiting For The Decree On Dismissal From The Ministry Of Home Affairs
Deputy Regent of Agam, Irwan Fikri is still waiting for a decree from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) regarding the dismissal from the position he has proposed since submitting his resignation on May 14, 2023.
"I don't know now whether to serve as Deputy Regent of Agam or not. But what is clear is that I have given up all my rights and obligations as Deputy Regent since submitting my resignation," he said while attending the organic rice harvest in Tilatang Kamang, Agam, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 16.
Although the status is still unclear, Irwan Fikri is more comfortable being referred to as an Agam community leader than the Deputy Regent of Agam.
Because of his unclear status, Irwan said that if his right as deputy regent still goes into a personal account, he will return it to the regional treasury.
Previously, Irwan Fikri had left the deputy regent's official residence. All assets of the Agam Regency Government have also been handed over on Tuesday (23/5).
West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi on the same occasion said that if the decree was dismissed from the position of Deputy Regent of Agam from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Irwan Fikri's status was actually still the deputy regent.
However, he still respects the Democratic Party's decision to resign and reject his rights as deputy regional head.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Secretariat and Otda, Doni Rahmat Samulo, said that the letter of resignation from the Deputy Regent of Agam had been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 8, 2023.
The letter was replied to by the Ministry of Home Affairs who asked the West Sumatra Provincial Government to re-verify the reason for the Deputy Regent of Agam to resign, whether for reasons submitted in the resignation letter or because he wanted to register as a legislative candidate.
These two reasons have their own consequences. If because they want to become legislative candidates, the Decree on their resignation will be given by the Ministry of Home Affairs in October 2023. However, if for the reasons presented in the letter, the decree for dismissal will be accelerated in June or July 2023.
Doni said that his party had carried out the verification process and the reason for Irwan Fikri was the reason conveyed in the resignation letter and wanted the process to be accelerated.
"We will send the verification report back to the Ministry of Home Affairs so that a decree is issued for dismissal from office in June or July 2023," he said.
