Hooray! YouTube Creators Who Have 500 Subscribers Can Now Earn Money Easily
JAKARTA - YouTube announced it had reduced the complicated requirements in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), now make it easier for creators to monetize their content.
"Now we are expanding the program by introducing prior access to YPP with lower eligibility criteria, which will help you start making money on YouTube more quickly," said Vice President of YouTube Creator Products Amjad Hanif in the company's official blog, quoted Wednesday, June 14.
Required creators can start registering with YPP earlier, once they have 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and 3000 hours of watch time in the past year or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
These new requirements will also open access to fan funding features such as membership channels, Super Chats, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and the ability to promote their own products with YouTube Shopping.
"Because creators continue to develop their channels, they automatically meet the requirements to get profit sharing from advertising and even more profits after achieving the existing YPP eligibility criteria, without having to go through a complete YPP application process again. The existing eligibility requirements to open profit sharing remain unchanged," said Hanif.
Hanif stated that the new YPP policy will launch for the first time for creators in the United States (US), United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, South Korea, and will be extended to all countries where YPP is available from time to time.

On the other hand, YouTube is also expanding its YouTube Shopping affiliate program to all eligible and YPP-based creators with more than 20,000 subscribers.
With affiliate programs, creators can feature products from brands and other creators in their content and qualify for competitive commission rates for product sales tagged in their video and Shorts clips.
As YPP launched in 2007, the program provides creators with exclusive advantages that help them monetize its content.
To register for YPP, YouTube previously required creators to have 10,000 views. Then, it was changed again to 4,000 hours of watch from last year and 1,000 subscribers.
The first time YouTube Shorts has appeared, creators can join YPP if their Shorts video is viewed 10 million times in the last 90 days. But the presence of this new policy, all new creators can earn money easily.
