Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources: Location Of Sea Sedimentation Exploration Discussed Across Ministries
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said that the determination of locations that are allowed to hold sea sedimentation exploration activities as a follow-up to Government Regulation Number 26 of 2023 concerning Management of sedimentation Results in the sea is still being discussed across ministries.
According to him, discussions will be carried out and agreed by his ministry with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
"(The determination) will be our together, ESDM (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources), Transportation (Ministry of Transportation), and KKP (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries)," said Arifin, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 12.
Later, the technical rules as derivatives of PP 26/2023 promulgated on May 15, 2023 will be prepared in the form of ministerial regulations.
"Yes, together, we will be with it, later if it is agreed there will be a method. Who will this be to maintain sea lanes, sea health, maybe it is at the KKP," said Arifin.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources added that the results of the initial study already existed and were held by the KKP.
In addition, Arifin ensured that the study had heeded and considered marine conservation interests.
"Indeed, what is directed at the target is regarding the sediment. Do not let the sediment create a silting, endanger the shipping lane," he said.
Previously, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Pramono Anung emphasized that not all regions were allowed to explore marine sedimentation and export it and the criteria would be regulated in the derivative regulation of PP 26/2023.
Meanwhile, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono ensured that the marine sedimentation sand exploration activities did not interfere with fishing caught.
"No (disturbed), we are not massive, right. We see where the study team results are. Instead (the sedimentation) is disturbing, disturbing fishermen. The ship cannot pass and so on," said Sakti in Batam, Friday, June 9.

In Article 9 paragraph 2 of PP 26/2023 it is stated that the use of sedimentation in the form of sea sand is used for domestic reclamation, government infrastructure development, infrastructure development by business actors and/or exports as long as domestic needs are met, and in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
Then, it is also stated that the allocation of domestic sea sand will be subject to non-tax state revenue (PNBP) costs, while exports will be subject to higher PNBP costs.
